Community Involvement

Charlotte Mothers of Multiples is happy to provide support not only to our members, but to the greater Charlotte community as well through our sponsorship in local community organizations and participation in their events, our participation in NICU support programs at local hospitals, member donations of children's clothing and other items after our semi-annual consignment sales, our Annual Community Service Day and much more.  Here is a little more in-depth glimpse into those programs:

Pierce's Project Sponsorship

CMOMs is also proud to be a Silver Sponsor of the Pierce's Project Premature Oktoberfest fundraiser.  Pierce's Project is a non-profit fund, managed by Novant Healthcare Foundation which serves families of micro-preemies and chronically ill infants at all stages of their journey - before, during and after NICU stays. Each year approximately 250-300 micro-preemies (babies born under 27 weeks and/or 2 lbs) are born in Charlotte. Pierce's Project exists to support parents of micro-preemies at all stages of their NICU journey- before, during and after. Raising a child who was born extremely premature or chronically ill comes with unique challenges and parents need someone supporting them every step of the way. Pierce's Project is there to provide that support, and CMOMs is proud to assist.

NICU support
Local NICU Program Support

We participate in monthly NICU support meetings at both Novant Health Hemby Children's Hospital (formerly Presbyterian Hospital) and Levine Children's Hospital (formerly CMC Uptown). Each of these meetings is hosted by a CMOMs member who is there to provide support and comfort for parents with children in the NICU.

Consignment Sale Donations

Our semi-annual consignment sales generate thousands of donated items that benefit local charities.  Additionally, we collect stuffed animal donations which benefit Lily's Place.

Annual Community Service Day

CMOMs hosts an annual Community Service Day for our members and their families to participate in various activities that give back to the community.  Our past Community Day activities have included such things as assisting at the Ronald McDonald House, preparing sandwiches for Urban Ministries, and snack bags for A Child's Place as well as making thank you cards for hospital nursing staff.
